Balloons Against Panel Porders

Eric Oct 14, 2014 04:46AM AEDT

Hello,

Is there a way to cut balloons where they butt against panel edges. I see there is a clip function, but it doesn't seem to serve this function.

Thanks,
Eric

Hello there Eric!

You are correct. That is exactly what the “Arrange > Clip” feature does.
Just make sure the balloon is selected when you do it.

As seen here: Clip

Hope this helps!

Thanks. I am working with panels in a jpeg image--over which I am placing the balloons--so the clip feature doesn't work (I assume the balloons interact somehow with the Comic Life panels). However (eureka!) I sized the Comic Life panels to match my panels in the image, sent them behind my panels in the jpeg, and voila, I can clip the balloons.

Hello again Eric,

Fantastic! Glad you found a work-around. Yes, you are correct – clipping is dependent on the panels created in Comic Life.

The other option that may work is to drop a panel in, resize it over your own panels in the image, then turn off the stroke in the Format bar (top left).
That would alleviate the need to change the ordering.

Have fun!
