Put an image in a speech bubble

English Bob Jan 06, 2015 11:54PM AEDT

Is there a way to insert an image in a speech bubble, or can they only accept text?

For example, I sometimes want to show a character's thoughts in pictorial form (more direct than describing them in words!). Another example: I wanted to show a mobile phone ringtone by putting an image of musical notes in a bubble (the phone itself is hidden, hence the need for a bubble).

I can of course always add an image later in an image editor, but just wondering if there's a way to do it within Comic Life.

Hello there English Bob,

Yes, you sure can. In Comic Life 3, the easiest way is to simply drop an image on top of a balloon. And it will be seen in the balloon :)

Or you can have a little more control, by doing the following:

1. Go to: Inspector > Graphic > from the first drop-down menu, select Image.
2. Then Click the the box with the arrow in it, then from the drop-down menu select “Choose…” and navigate to your image.
Now in the drop-down menu next to the image, you can choose different scales or stretch to make it look right.

I discovered this by accident and it is super easy. You just drag and drop your image into the bubble. Voila!

Thanks Mark. That's so easy - how come I never thought to try that? :)
