Why are the style boxes for filters blacked out?

John Glaser Nov 29, 2014 01:04AM AEDT

I can not use the filters for photos. There is the default box with "none" but when I click on a style such as "hatched" etc., I only get a blacked-out picture. I have chosen blank template with styles and I have tried to manipulate all these blacked out images in inspector. Any suggestions?

Hello there John,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry you are having issues with Comic Life 3.

This usually happens if the graphics card is not supported by the filters in Comic Life.

You should be able to work around the graphics card by doing the following:

In Comic Life, go to: Edit > Options… > And under “Editing” place a tick next to “Use Software Filtering”.
Then restart Comic Life 3.

And then the filters should look all colorful again.

Hope this helps!
